New Delhi/Al Khafji, Saudi Arabia: The Embassy of India in Saudi Arabia is providing consular and document attestation services in Al Khafji today, offering Indian nationals in the region easier access to essential diplomatic and citizen services.
Members of the Indian diaspora are visiting the service centre and availing themselves of various consular facilities. Embassy officials are also addressing their consular-related issues and providing assistance at the centre.
What are Consular and Attestation Services?
Consular services are citizen-focused services provided by an Indian Embassy or Consulate to Indians living or travelling abroad. These may include assistance relating to passports and travel documents, registration of births, emergency and welfare matters, affidavits and other declarations, and other documentation required by Indian citizens overseas.
Attestation services involve the official verification/authentication of eligible documents issued in India or abroad for use before authorities in another country. Depending on the nature of the document and its intended use, this can include educational certificates, marriage or birth certificates, commercial documents, affidavits, powers of attorney and other legal or personal documents. Applicants may need to complete the required authentication or apostille process in India before submitting documents for consular attestation, depending on the document and its purpose.
Such outreach consular camps and service centres are particularly useful for the Indian diaspora in areas located away from the Embassy or regular Consular service centres, reducing the need for repeated travel and making essential services more accessible.
The Embassy’s initiative in Al Khafji provides the Indian community with an opportunity to obtain consular assistance and document-related services closer to their place of residence, while also allowing officials to directly understand and address issues faced by the diaspora.
The outreach reflects the Embassy’s continued efforts to make consular services more accessible, responsive and convenient for Indian nationals in Saudi Arabia. 🇮🇳🇸🇦
