New Delhi: Delhi Cabinet Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh visited Burari to assess long-pending concerns raised by local residents over poor road conditions and drainage-related issues in the area.

During the visit, the minister reviewed the proposed development works planned across Burari, including a comprehensive improvement of the 7.1-km-long Burari Road at an estimated cost of around ₹120 crore.

The road project will include:

  • 3.9 km of RCC road from Baba Colony to Nathupura
  • 3.2 km of bituminous road covering the stretch from Outer Ring Road to Baba Colony and Nathupura to Hiranki

Alongside the road improvement, around 9.3 km of drainage work is also planned. The drainage network will cover the stretches from Amrit Vihar to Bengali Colony and from Swaroop Nagar T-point to Burari Creek.

According to Parvesh Sahib Singh, the drainage work is aimed at addressing the persistent waterlogging problem faced by residents in the area.

The tender for the drainage work has already been issued, while the tender for the road construction is expected to be issued within the next 10 days.

The proposed works are expected to focus on improving road connectivity, drainage infrastructure and waterlogging management across Burari.
