Haldwani, Uttarakhand: BJP National President Nitin Nabin addressed the Extended State Working Committee Meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haldwani, highlighting the party’s development agenda for Uttarakhand and calling for renewed efforts ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
Nabin said the “double-engine government”—the BJP governments at the Centre and in Uttarakhand—is working with determination to accelerate the state’s development. He praised the leadership of the Chief Minister and said the party would work to further strengthen the state’s development journey and return to power in 2027.
Paying tribute to the spiritual significance of Uttarakhand, Nabin said he bowed to the sacred land and referred to Neem Karoli Baba, whose life and teachings continue to inspire people. He also mentioned the recently made film ‘Hanuman Ans’ on Neem Karoli Baba and expressed his desire to watch it, seeking the saint’s blessings for himself and BJP workers.
Recalling the creation of Uttarakhand, Nabin said the state was among the three new states created during the tenure of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, along with Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. He said the BJP takes pride in having played a key role in the creation of Uttarakhand and would remain committed to its development.
Nabin credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership with advancing Uttarakhand’s development and said several major infrastructure projects are being implemented across the state. He cited the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway, road connectivity projects and infrastructure associated with the Char Dham pilgrimage as examples of the government’s focus on improving connectivity.
He contrasted the present development initiatives with the situation under previous Congress governments, alleging that people in the hill regions had earlier faced inadequate transport and basic infrastructure. He said the BJP governments had worked to extend essential services, including roads, electricity and drinking water, to remote areas.
Nabin said the BJP’s focus would remain on infrastructure development, basic amenities and improving connectivity in the hill state, while urging party workers to take the government’s development initiatives to the people and strengthen the organisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
