New Delhi: Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri met Manny Maceda, Chairman of Bain & Company, a global management consulting and business transformation firm, to explore opportunities for greater collaboration in India’s rapidly evolving energy sector.

The discussions focused on how Bain & Company’s global expertise in technology, energy, strategy and business transformation could support Indian energy companies as the country works to strengthen its energy ecosystem and expand capacity to meet growing demand.

India’s energy sector is undergoing significant transformation, driven by rising energy consumption, industrialisation and the transition towards cleaner and more sustainable sources of energy. The country is simultaneously working to strengthen conventional energy security while accelerating investments in renewable energy, green hydrogen, energy efficiency and emerging technologies.

Puri highlighted the potential for global expertise, innovation and strategic partnerships to complement India’s efforts to build a more resilient, diversified and technology-driven energy sector.

Bain & Company’s experience in advising governments and major corporations on energy strategy, digital transformation, operational efficiency and large-scale business transformation could offer opportunities for collaboration with Indian energy entities, particularly as the sector navigates changing global markets and the transition towards a lower-carbon economy.

The meeting also comes as India seeks to attract greater foreign investment, advanced technology and international expertise to support its long-term energy ambitions.

The engagement underscored the scope for stronger cooperation between Indian energy companies and global consulting and technology experts, with the objective of enhancing efficiency, competitiveness, innovation and energy security.

The interaction reflects India’s broader push to bring together government, industry and global expertise to support the expansion and modernisation of the country’s energy sector.
