Jalandhar: Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia participated in the Punjab Youth Run 2026 organised by the AAP Youth Wing in Jalandhar, where a large number of people from different age groups joined the marathon. The Jalandhar edition of the run was held on August 23 as part of the youth-oriented campaign promoting fitness and a drug-free Punjab.

Addressing the participants, Sisodia said the event should not be viewed merely as a run covering a few kilometres, but as a symbol of Punjab’s determination to move beyond addiction, hopelessness and a sense of surrender.

He said that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the state’s youth were helping transform the popular image of “Udta Punjab” into a “Playing-Running Punjab”, where sports, physical fitness and healthy lifestyles take centre stage.

The event witnessed participation from young people, children and senior citizens, with Sisodia applauding their enthusiasm and distributing mementoes to participants.

The Punjab Youth Run initiative is being organised by the AAP Punjab Youth Wing with a focus on encouraging sports, exercise and fitness as part of the broader campaign against drug abuse. Following its Mohali edition, the initiative was brought to Jalandhar, where the message of choosing sports over drugs remained at the heart of the programme.

Sisodia said such public participation reflected a positive change in Punjab, asserting that the state’s young generation can become a driving force for a healthier and more energetic society.

The organisers described the Jalandhar event as another step towards building a fit, active and drug-free Punjab, while encouraging people across generations to make sports and regular physical activity part of their lives.
