New Delhi: Saurav Das, Co-convenor of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has raised concerns over the condition of government and MCD-run schools in Delhi after conducting what he described as a social audit of three schools.
According to Das, two of the schools are located in Bhati Mines, Chhatarpur village, while the third is situated at Kotla Mubarak. He shared a video from his visit and alleged that several basic facilities were either inadequate or non-functional.
Das pointed to a large garbage accumulation outside one of the Delhi government schools and urged Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood to take immediate steps to improve the school’s infrastructure and clean the surrounding area.
He also raised concerns about an MCD school where mid-day meals are served, appealing to MCD Mayor Parvesh Wahi to address the problems at the institution.
Among the issues he claimed to have found during the visits were tin-roofed structures, unclean or non-functional toilets, poor-quality mid-day meals, classrooms that were not functioning properly and computers that were reportedly not operational.
Went to social audit two MCD schools and one Govt school in Delhi.
In the video here, you see a big garbage spot outside a school—that’s a Delhi govt school. I would urge the Delhi Education Minister @ashishsood_bjp to fix that school’s infrastructure… pic.twitter.com/9ojur9OvXp

Das further alleged that the MCD school in Kotla Mubarak also has a tin roof, claiming that the resulting heat during summer causes health problems for students from nursery to Class 5.
Calling for immediate intervention, Das appealed to Ashish Sood and Parvesh Wahi to prioritise the condition of government schools. He also warned that if the problems were not addressed, he and local residents would return to inspect the schools again by September 15.
The allegations were made by Das following his social-audit visits; the specific conditions and administrative responses would need to be independently verified
