New Delhi: Union Minister J.P. Nadda on Thursday held an interaction with Members of Parliament from West Bengal as part of a series of state-wise consultations aimed at accelerating India’s efforts to eliminate tuberculosis (TB).
During the meeting, the Union Minister urged the MPs to strengthen community participation, promote early detection of tuberculosis, and enhance district-level monitoring to improve the implementation of TB control programmes.
Highlighting the government’s strategy to combat the disease, Nadda emphasized the role of indigenous innovations, artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled diagnostics, and enhanced patient support mechanisms as key drivers of India’s journey towards eliminating tuberculosis.
The Minister said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the #TBMuktBharat Abhiyan has emerged as a landmark initiative in the country’s fight against tuberculosis. He noted that the campaign is built on the pillars of innovation, compassion, and strong political commitment, with the overarching objective of achieving a TB-free India.
