New Delhi : India strongly countered Pakistan’s remarks at the United Nations, accusing Islamabad of misusing the international forum to promote what it described as a false narrative on issues concerning India. This information is released by the official social media platform of the India in UN.
Speaking at the UN, India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Harish P., said that while it was not India’s intention to raise unrelated issues, the delegation was compelled to respond after Pakistan used the discussion to make allegations against India.
Reiterating New Delhi’s position on the Indus Waters Treaty, Ambassador Harish P. stated that cooperation based on mutual trust and goodwill cannot be sustained when cross-border terrorism is repeatedly used as an instrument of state policy.
On the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, he asserted that the Union Territory has always been, remains, and will continue to be an integral and inalienable part of India, describing it as a constitutional and legal reality. He further said that the only outstanding issue related to Jammu and Kashmir is Pakistan’s illegal occupation of India’s sovereign territory.
Concluding his remarks, the Indian envoy urged Pakistan to focus on addressing its own internal challenges instead of levelling accusations against India, saying such an approach would better serve the interests of the Pakistani people.
