New Delhi/Berlin : Indian Ambassador to Germany Ambassador Ajit V. Gupte attended the first-ever Yoga and Meditation session organised at the German Bundestag on 6 July 2026, as part of the celebrations marking the International Day of Yoga.
The special event was hosted by Henri Schmidt MdB, Deputy Chairman of the Indo-German Parliamentary Group, and brought together German political leaders, yoga practitioners, and members of the Indian diaspora.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Ajit V. Gupte highlighted the growing global relevance of Yoga as a practice that promotes physical and mental wellness. He underlined India’s leadership in the field of traditional medicine and spoke about the increasing popularity and acceptance of Ayurveda in Germany.
The session reflected the deepening cultural and people-to-people connections between India and Germany, with Yoga serving as a bridge for promoting health, harmony, and mutual understanding between the two nations.
The event further strengthened the role of India’s ancient wellness traditions in fostering international cooperation and cultural exchange.
