-DHBVN MD Reviews Power Projects, Consumer Services in High-Level Gurugram Meeting

Gurugram : A high-level review meeting of the Whole-Time Directors (WTDs) of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) was held at Hetri House, Gurugram, under the chairmanship of Vikram Singh, Special Secretary (Energy), Government of Haryana, and Managing Director of the North and South Haryana Power Distribution Corporations.

During the meeting, a comprehensive review of ongoing schemes, projects, and pending works of the Corporation was undertaken. Detailed discussions were held on key issues related to strengthening power infrastructure, procurement procedures, technical upgrades, agricultural electricity connections, solar energy initiatives, and consumer services.

Managing Director Vikram Singh directed officials to ensure minimum power outages so that consumers do not face unnecessary disruptions in electricity supply. Taking serious note of the increased power cuts in the Fatehabad, Sirsa, Hisar, and Jind circles, he reviewed the situation with the concerned Superintending Engineers and instructed them to take immediate corrective measures.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of electrification plans, pending captive connectivity cases, implementation of the ‘Mera Gaon Jagmag Gaon’ scheme, and the solarization of government buildings. Discussions were also held on technical specification approvals, pending electrical works, shifting of 33 kV lines, procurement of transformers and cables, issuance of agricultural tube-well connections, and improvement of system reliability.

Several important proposals were considered during the meeting, including the release of hundreds of new agricultural tube-well connections in the Fatehabad and Bhiwani circles, extension of commissioning timelines for solar power generators under the PM-KUSUM scheme, and appointment of an agency for the publicity and promotion of the ‘PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana’.

A proposal to revise the Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) rates for Corporation employees and pensioners with effect from January 1, 2026, was also approved during the meeting. In addition, several administrative and technical decisions were taken to improve operational efficiency, consumer services, and the reliability of the power distribution system.

Reviewing the implementation of rooftop solar plants under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, Vikram Singh directed officials to ensure that the benefits of the Surya Ghar Incentive Scheme reach the maximum number of government employees and regular electricity consumers.

The meeting further reviewed the progress of the RDSS project, Smart City initiatives, monitoring systems, field inspection reports, pole removal operations, Right of Way issues, and plans for new substations and augmentation works.

Senior officials present at the meeting included Director (Finance) Ratan Kumar Verma, Chief Engineer (Operations) Delhi Zone V.K. Agarwal, Chief Engineer (Operations) Hisar Zone Rajendra Kumar Sabharwal, Chief Engineer (Commercial) Anil Sharma, Chief Engineer (PD&C) Krishna Swaroop, Chief Accounts Officer Sushila Kumari, Superintending Engineer (Gurugram-1) Shyam Bir Saini, and Superintending Engineer (Gurugram-2) Manoj Yadav, among others.

Other officials including Rajkumar Jajoria, Chandrashekhar Jakhar, Anupam Katiyar, Sandeep Kumar, Vijender Lamba, and Public Relations Officer Sanjay Chugh also attended the meeting physically, while Company Secretary Sonia Bansal and officials from various circles joined virtually.
