Gurugram : Under the guidance of Narendra Sura, District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), a surprise inspection was conducted at the Udayan Home for Boys, a child care institution operating in Gurugram.
The inspection was carried out by Nisha, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary of the DLSA, with the objective of assessing the overall facilities, safety standards, educational support, healthcare services, and care arrangements being provided to children residing at the institution.
During the visit, officials conducted a detailed review of residential facilities, hygiene and sanitation standards, food quality, drinking water arrangements, medical services, counseling support, and security measures. Educational and recreational activities available to the children were also evaluated to ensure their holistic development. In addition, institutional records, registers, and individual care plans of the children were thoroughly examined.
As part of the inspection, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary Nisha interacted directly with the children to understand their daily routines, concerns, and personal needs. She emphasized the importance of providing every child with a safe, secure, and dignified environment that supports their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Following the inspection, several directions were issued to the institution’s management to further strengthen child welfare measures and ensure protection of children’s rights. Officials were specifically instructed to enhance regular health check-ups, counseling support, and skill development initiatives for the children.
The DLSA also reaffirmed its commitment to conducting periodic inspections of child care institutions to ensure continuous monitoring of facilities and to safeguard the best interests of children residing in such homes.
