New Delhi : India has once again expressed serious concerns over the activities of Khalistani extremist elements operating from Canada, urging the Canadian government to take firm and effective action against anti-India activities being carried out from its territory.

In an official statement, Randhir Jaiswal Official Spokesperson MEA, India highlighted that India has repeatedly raised the issue with Canadian authorities and emphasized the need for stronger measures to curb extremist activities that threaten India’s sovereignty, social harmony, and diplomatic interests.

The concerns raised by India include the alleged glorification of violence by extremist groups, threats issued against Indian political leaders and diplomats, incidents of vandalism targeting places of worship, and continued attempts to promote separatism through so-called “referendums” advocating Khalistan.

India reiterated that such activities not only undermine bilateral relations but also pose broader concerns related to public safety, extremism, and misuse of democratic freedoms. New Delhi has consistently maintained that freedom of expression cannot be used as a justification for promoting violence, intimidation, or separatist agendas.

The statement comes amid ongoing diplomatic discussions between India and Canada over issues related to extremism, security cooperation, and the activities of pro-Khalistan groups abroad. India has urged Canadian authorities to take concrete steps to prevent the misuse of Canadian soil for activities directed against India’s unity and integrity.

India further emphasized the importance of mutual sensitivity and cooperation in addressing security concerns, while reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding its national interests and diplomatic personnel overseas.
