Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Arrives in Berlin for Key Defence Talks with Germany

New Delhi /Berlin : India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was accorded a warm welcome upon his arrival in Berlin, marking the beginning of his official visit to Germany from April 21 to 23, 2026.

Upon arrival, Singh expressed optimism about the visit, stating that he looks forward to productive engagements with his German counterpart Boris Pistorius, as well as interactions with leading representatives of the German defence industry. He подчеркнул that these discussions will focus on enhancing collaboration in joint development and co-production initiatives under India’s flagship Make-in-India programme.

The visit is expected to pave the way for stronger industrial partnerships, increased technology sharing, and closer cooperation in defence manufacturing, reflecting a shared commitment by both nations to expand their strategic ties in the sector.

The visit is aimed at further strengthening the strategic defence partnership between the two nations. During his stay, Singh is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with his German counterpart Boris Pistorius, along with other senior members of the German government.

Key outcomes expected from the visit include the signing of a Defence Industrial Cooperation Roadmap, as well as an implementing arrangement for collaboration in United Nations peacekeeping training. These agreements are anticipated to deepen cooperation in defence manufacturing, capability building, and joint training initiatives between India and Germany.

The visit underscores the growing convergence between the two countries in defence and security cooperation, reflecting their shared commitment to enhancing strategic ties and addressing global security challenges collaboratively.
