New Delhi : Unconfirmed reports indicate that 8 people have died so far in a massive car explosion outside the Red Fort, a landmark building in the capital, Delhi. Thirty people are also reported injured. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has arrived at the scene. Delhi Police and NIA teams are also investigating.
Following the massive car explosion, Delhi Police have cordoned off the entire area. Investigative agencies are investigating to determine the cause of the blast.
Regarding the car blast, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the explosion occurred in an i20 car at 7pm. Some people have lost their lives and several others have been injured. He stated that teams from the Delhi Police and the NIA, along with the FSL, have now launched a thorough investigation. He stated that the incident will be investigated from all angles. He personally reached the site and visited the Lok Nayak hospital to meet the injured. Meanwhile, it is reported that Prime Minister Narendra Modi also called the Home Minister to inquire about the incident.
