New Delhi : President Draupadi Murmu has accepted the resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar. After Jagdeep Dhankhar’s resignation from the post of Vice President, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today that he has got the opportunity to serve the country in many roles and he wishes him good health. Prime Minister Modi posted on ‘X’, “Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar ji has got the opportunity to serve the country in many roles including Vice President of India. I wish him good health.”
India’s 14th Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar surprised everyone by suddenly resigning from his post on Monday , July 21. Despite having two years of tenure left, he has cited health reasons as the reason for his resignation.
In his resignation, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Cabinet for their support. He has written that the trust and affection he received from the MPs will always be memorable for him. He has said that as Vice President, he has learned a lot about Indian democracy.
However, the opposition has suspected some other reasons behind his decision. 74-year-old Dhankhar expressed gratitude to President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his resignation and wrote, “It has been an honor for me to contribute to this transformative phase of India’s unprecedented progress and economic development. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cooperation and support has been invaluable. I have learned a lot from him during my tenure.”
