Congress party discriminated against OBC society: Mohan Lal Baroli
National President of OBC Morcha Dr. K Laxman and BJP State President Pandit Mohan Lal Baroli welcomed and congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to conduct caste census in Panchkula
Chandigarh : As part of the campaign being run by OBC Morcha for caste census, on Tuesday, National President of BJP’s OBC Morcha Dr. K Laxman and BJP State President Pandit Mohan Lal Baroli held a press conference at BJP State Office Panchkamal in Panchkula. Dr. K Laxman and Mohan Lal Baroli welcomed and congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to conduct caste census. Dr. K Laxman raised sharp questions on the Congress party and said that Congress never did justice to the OBC class. Congress has always kept the deprived, poor and Dalits deprived of government schemes on the principle of divide and rule. At the same time, Mr. Baroli also accused the Congress party of discriminating against the OBC community. Minister Rajesh Nagar, OBC Morcha state president Madan Chauhan, chief spokesperson Jawahar Yadav were also present on this occasion.
OBC Morcha national president K. Laxman said that OBC Morcha is running a campaign for caste census across the country. The main objective of this campaign is to make people aware. He said that Rahul Gandhi is trying to take credit for PM Modi’s decision of caste census. Surrounding Rahul Gandhi, he said that three people from the family were Prime Ministers and Congress was in power for 55 to 60 years, then why caste census was not conducted. Dr. Laxman said that during the British rule, the census was done by adding caste, but after the country became independent, Jawaharlal Nehru stopped it as soon as he became the Prime Minister.
Dr. Laxman said that today Rahul Gandhi is roaming around misleading people with the book of Constitution. Rahul Gandhi spread rumours about BJP that if BJP government is formed then reservation will be abolished and constitution will be changed. He said that Rahul Gandhi’s aim is to distract people from the main goal. Now people have also come to know that Prime Minister Modi does what he says.
Dr. Laxman said that after the independence of the country, the first Kaka Kalelkar Commission was formed. This commission recommended census of all castes in OBC society, but Jawaharlal Nehru refused it. Jawaharlal Nehru also wrote a letter to the Chief Ministers of the states and refused reservation on the basis of caste. He said that Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar opposed Jawaharlal Nehru, then the Congress government put the recommendations of the commission on hold.
Dr. K Laxman said that Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi also did not allow caste census to happen. Mandal Commission was formed in the Janata Party government, but after becoming Prime Minister again, Indira Gandhi did not mention anything about the commission and completely opposed the OBC society. He said that whenever Congress was in power, it never raised the issue of reservation for OBC community. After coming in opposition, Congress is giving air to this issue.
Dr. Laxman said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave constitutional status to the commission of OBC community in 2018. PM Modi has taken many decisions in the interest of the society in 11 years. Arrangement of 27 percent reservation was made at Kendriya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools and national level, only then the children of OBC community started becoming doctors and engineers.
Congress never cared about OBC community : Mohan Lal Baroli
BJP state president Pandit Mohan Lal Baroli said that Congress has always been against caste census. He said that after the census done during the British period, Congress never allowed caste census to be done. Attacking the Congress, he said that Congress always did injustice to the OBC community and did not care about the welfare of OBC massage.
BJP state president said that the BJP government is the government of Antyodaya. So that there is no discrimination against anyone, BJP is providing the benefits of government schemes to the last person. To ensure welfare and upliftment of the last person in the society, PM Modi has taken the decision of caste census keeping all issues in mind.
