Gurugram : A five-member committee of Municipal Corporation Commissioners constituted by the Urban Local Bodies Department of Haryana visited the Integrated Command and Control Centre of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority on Sunday. The committee was welcomed by GMDA Additional Chief Executive Officer Vishwajeet Chaudhary.
The committee is made up of commissioners of Municipal Corporations Gurugram, Faridabad, Karnal, Hisar and Sonipat. It has been constituted with the aim of inspecting the ICCC centres established in Gurugram, Faridabad and Karnal and studying their functioning in detail. During the visit, the committee was given information related to the establishment process, project cost, and operation of GMDA’s ICCC. Apart from this, various smart city applications and dashboards were demonstrated by the officials of the Smart City Division. These applications include public grievance redressal system, traffic control and signal lights monitoring, real-time monitoring of city bus services operated by GMCB, air quality index and environmental monitoring, One Map Gurugram portal, STP data monitoring and auto challan system of Gurugram Police.
The committee praised the effective use of ICCC by various departments and said that data analysis and its practical use should be given priority in smart city operations. Also, consultant EY, who accompanied the committee, was directed to study the functioning of ICCC in depth and suggest more effective and integrated solutions for the future. This visit is being seen as an important initiative towards smart governance, which will also inspire other municipal corporations to adopt advanced technological infrastructure.
The committee includes Municipal Corporation Faridabad Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata, Municipal Corporation Gurugram Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, Municipal Corporation Karnal Commissioner Dr. Vaishali Sharma, Municipal Corporation Hisar Commissioner Neeraj and Municipal Corporation Sonipat Commissioner Harshit Kumar.
