PFTI Organizes Cold-Sweet Water and Ice-cream Distribution Camp for Industrial Workers on Nirjala Ekadashi

Gurugram : Progressive Federation of Trade and Industry (PFTI) organized a cold-sweet water and ice-cream distribution camp for industrial workers at Plot No. 370 of Pace City-2, Sector-37 on the auspicious occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi, on Friday, June 06. This public welfare service started at 10 am, which was inaugurated by Kushal Kataria, Additional Labor Commissioner, Labor Department , Haryana.

 

On this special occasion Shri Kataria said that providing cold water to workers in the scorching heat is a great human service, and PFTI has set an excellent example of public service culture in the industry by doing this noble work. He also said that such events will prove to be a milestone for industrial peace in Gurugram .

 

Deepak Malik, Assistant Director, Labor Department, Haryana praised this initiative and said that it will also inspire other industrial organizations towards labour welfare. In his speech, Vinod Bapna, Chief Executive Officer of Kaparo Maruti and District President of CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) Gurugram said that the industry can move towards sustainable development only when it makes community welfare an integral part of its work culture. He described this service work organized by PFTI as a commendable effort towards labour welfare and said that such events promote harmony and cohesion between management and workers, which is very important for industrial peace.

SDO of South Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Sahil Garg described workers as the pillars of energy of the society.

Rajesh Gupta, President of Manesar Industrial Welfare Association, said that service and sadhna are the basic philosophy of PFTI. President of Udyog Vihar Association  Ashok Kohli said that PFTI is playing the role as a strong bridge between industry and humanity. Councilor of Municipal Corporation Gurugram Ashok Pehalwan was also  present in the program and appreciated this effort of PFTI .

 

PFTI Chairman Deepak Maini said that the organization is carrying forward this tradition of service year after year and its main mantra is— ‘When you feel thirsty, first you need water’. Vice President Dr. S.P. Agarwal said that Nirjala Ekadashi is a festival of penance, restraint and service, which PFTI is giving a positive message to the society by linking it with labour welfare.

 

PFTI Director Advocate R.L. Sharma, emphasized on the social responsibility of industries. He said that community development is also very important along with production. Director Dr. Anshul Dhingra, calling workers the axis of industrial progress, said that their respect leads the industry towards self-reliance.

 

PFTI Gurugram Chairman P.K. Gupta, General Secretary Rakesh Batra, Strategic Advisor (Export Growth Committee) Munish Gupta, Core Committee Member Sanjay Jain along with G. Many eminent citizens and industrial representatives including Prof. K.K. Bajaj, Dharmendra Fauji, Dr. Pankaj Agarwal, Dr. Vibhav Agarwal, Dr. Ashwani Bansal, Sunil Kathuria, Mr. Indrajit Singh, Mr. Bimal Bedi,  Udaiveer Chaudhary and Advocate Harkesh Sharma were present.

 

Under this collective effort, cold drinks and ice cream were distributed to about 6,000 workers and passersby.

 

PFTI specially thanked Tongue Twister Ice Creams for their cooperation in organizing this event. Along with this, the organization also thanked the media representatives for giving wide publicity to the program and actively participating in the service work.

 

The organization resolved that such public welfare initiatives would continue to be organized in the future to strengthen community harmony and human sensibilities in the Gurugram Industrial Area.
