Srinagar : The terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22 has shaken the entire country badly. Meanwhile, a one-day special session has been organized in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. During this, CM Omar Abdullah became emotional while speaking in the assembly. He said that the whole country has come under the grip of this attack. Let us tell you that after this attack, there is anger in the hearts of the people of Kashmir as well as the citizens of the country and everyone is very scared of this attack.
CM Omar Abdullah said, “I want to thank the Lieutenant Governor who called this session on our request. When a meeting was called in our cabinet after this attack, it was decided that we will request the Lieutenant Governor to call a one-day session. This session was called because neither the MPs nor the assembly of any other state understands the pain of those people as much as this assembly of Jammu and Kashmir.”
He said, “Speaker sahab, look around you, there are people sitting around you who have lost their loved ones. Some lost their father here, some lost their uncle. How many of us were attacked?”
He said, “When 40 people of Srinagar lost their precious lives in the attack on Srinagar’s assembly complex on 1 October 2001, I said that perhaps no other assembly or parliament will understand the pain of those people more than this assembly. That’s why we wanted that this house should condemn the Pahalgam attack and sympathize with those 26 families.”
He got emotional and said, “As the Chief Minister, Tourism Minister, we had invited people to come here. As the host, it was my responsibility to send everyone back safely from here. I couldn’t. I didn’t have the words to apologize. What could I say to them? To the little children…who saw their father covered in blood. The widow of that Navy officer who had got married a few days ago.”
CM Omar Abdullah said, ”Some people asked me what is our fault? We had come to Kashmir for the first time a few days ago to celebrate a holiday and now we will have to pay for this holiday for the rest of our lives. Those who did this. This attack has hollowed us from inside.”
