Gurugram : Efforts are underway to control the fire that broke out last night at the landfill site located at Bandhwari in Gurugram. DC Ajay Kumar today reached the landfill site and inspected the measures being taken to extinguish the fire and gave necessary guidelines to the fire and corporation officials. It is worth noting that on Saturday night, the fire department received emergency information about a fire in Bandhwari at the landfill site located at Bandhwari at 10 pm. As soon as the information was received, the fire brigade and civil defense teams from Gurugram reached the spot and immediately started the work of extinguishing the fire.
During the inspection tour of DC Ajay Kumar, fire officials said that as soon as the information was received at night, 15 fire engines were sent to the spot. During this time, the scope of the fire on the site could be limited as soon as possible. For this, the help of 10 fire engines was also taken from Nuh and Palwal districts. Officials said that 75 percent of the area affected by the fire at the landfill site has been controlled. Right now, the work of extinguishing the fire is going on on a war footing by 15 fire engines of Gurugram Fire Department. Officials expressed confidence that if everything goes in the right direction, the remaining 25 percent of the area affected by the fire will also be controlled soon.
DC Ajay Kumar directed the corporation and fire officials to find out the causes of the fire after taking detailed information about the incident. He said that the corporation officials should ensure that such an incident does not recur in future. Since the temperature is sure to increase in the coming days. In such a situation, various reasons for the fire at the landfill site should be identified and necessary precautions should be taken in advance. The DC directed the corporation officials to ensure permanent arrangements for water at the landfill site so that if such an incident recurs in the future, rescue efforts can be accelerated.
During this, Badshahpur SDM Ankit Choksey, DFO Rajkumar, Executive Engineer Nijesh, Joint Commissioner Akhilesh, Tehsildar Paurush Pehal, SHO DLF Police Station along with officials from Fire Department and Mohit from Civil Defence were present.
