New Delhi /Chandigarh : Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that to realize the dream of developed India and developed Haryana, it is very important to make the state drug free. Therefore, in the campaign of Drug Free Haryana, everyone has to rise above party politics and unite to empower and strengthen the youth of Haryana. He urged the Sant Samaj, Khap Panchayats, Sarpanches and the people of the state to play an active role in this great campaign and make their important contribution towards making Haryana drug free.
The Chief Minister said that the cooperation of every section of the society can play a decisive role in the fight against drugs. All together participate in the creation of a strong and healthy Haryana.
CM Naib Singh Saini was addressing the gathering after flagging off the cycle yatra on the occasion of the closing of Drug Free Haryana Cyclothon 2.0 in Sirsa today. The cyclothon will start from near Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium today and will go to different areas of Sirsa and will conclude in Odha today. Earlier, the Chief Minister himself reached the venue by cycling and gave the message of drug free Haryana.

The Chief Minister, while paying obeisance to the land of Shri Sarsai Nath Ji, Shri Guru Chilla Sahib Ji and Tara Baba Ji, said that the wonderful confluence of energy, celebration and unity seen in Sirsa today through the cyclothon is a symbol of collective fight against drug abuse. He said that it is a matter of pride that the Khap Panchayats have supported this cyclothon.
He said that this cycle rally, which started from Hisar on April 5, has toured the entire state and has reached its final stop today after a journey of 23 days. He congratulated all the youth participating in this rally and said that these youth have worked day and night to spread the message of de-addiction to the people. This was not just a rally, but the beginning of a new thinking, which includes important topics like health, environment, road safety and youth empowerment. He said that the organizers, participants and citizens have proved that when the goal is noble, the thinking is honest and there is public participation in the efforts, then any evil of the society can be eradicated from its roots.

Shri Saini said that Haryana is the land of soldiers, wrestlers and farmers, there is no place for drugs here. We all have to take Dhaakad Haryana forward together. He said that today is the last stop of the cyclothon, but instead of considering it as the last stop, consider it as the beginning of the fight against drugs and take a pledge that every house, every village of Haryana has to be made drug free. This campaign will definitely bring meaningful results.
He said that de-addiction centers are being run to get the youth who have fallen into the grip of drugs out of addiction. Separate de-addiction centers have also been opened in government hospitals and medical colleges. The government has set up an interstate drug secretariat in Panchkula to curb drug trafficking.
Shri Saini said that we have also urged the Sarpanchs to make their villages drug-free, pollution-free, perform well on standards such as cleanliness, health etc. The village coming first in the state will be awarded a prize of Rs 51 lakh, the second place will be awarded Rs 31 lakh and the third place village will be awarded Rs 21 lakh. The Chief Minister appealed to the citizens and said that if a person has been caught in the web of drug addiction, then do not distance yourself from him but try to help him and connect him with the mainstream.
He said that the government has created the Manas portal, on which any citizen can give information about drug traffickers and immediate action will be taken on it. The names of the informers will be kept secret. Apart from this, SHOs have also been instructed to take immediate action on receiving complaints related to drug trafficking in the villages under their jurisdiction. The concerned SHO will also be felicitated when all the villages falling under his jurisdiction become drug free.
He said that this cycle rally has proved that today’s youth is not only focused on studies and jobs but is also aware of social responsibilities and their health. He said that on this occasion, everyone should take a pledge that they will make Haryana drug free.
