Varanasi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the ‘Abe Memorial Corridor’ in Varanasi in the dignified presence of Akie Abe, wife of late former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
The memorial corridor has been established as a vibrant symbol of India-Japan friendship and cultural ties, commemorating the significant contribution of Shinzo Abe towards strengthening the historical, cultural and diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the memorial would serve as a living symbol of the enduring friendship between India and Japan and the deep historical and cultural connections shared by the two nations.
He paid tribute to the late Japanese Prime Minister and said that, on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India, the country offers its humble tributes to Shinzo Abe for his contribution to strengthening India-Japan bilateral relations.
The inauguration of the memorial corridor in Varanasi further highlights the city’s importance in promoting India-Japan cultural and people-to-people ties, while commemorating the legacy of a leader who played an important role in deepening relations between the two countries.
