Delhi LG calls for greater Jan Bhagidari and community participation in keeping Delhi clean and green
New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu joined young volunteers of the Vrikshit Foundation for a cleanliness drive at Shakurpur.
Highlighting the importance of Jan Bhagidari, the Delhi LG said a cleaner city can be achieved through active participation and collective responsibility. He urged young people to take ownership of their neighbourhoods and encourage Shramdaan as a people-driven movement for cleanliness.
During the programme, Sandhu also interacted with local residents and emphasised that maintaining the park cleaned by the young volunteers should now become a shared responsibility of the community.
The initiative highlighted the role of youth and local residents in promoting cleanliness, environmental awareness and civic responsibility.
Sandhu called for collective efforts to build a cleaner, healthier and greener Delhi.
