India, China Discuss Cultural Exchanges Amid Renewed Diplomatic Engagement

Beijing : India’s Deputy Chief of Mission, Angeline Premalatha, met Yu Hailin, Director General of the International Liaison Department of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC), in Beijing on August 27 to discuss ways to strengthen cultural and artistic exchanges between India and China.

During the meeting, the two sides explored opportunities for greater cooperation between artistic and cultural communities, as well as avenues for institutional collaboration and increased people-to-people engagement.

The meeting took place amid renewed diplomatic efforts between India and China to improve bilateral relations. On August 25, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval met Chinese Vice-President Han Zheng in Beijing ahead of the 25th round of talks between the Special Representatives of India and China on the boundary question.

According to reports, Doval and Han discussed maintaining peace and tranquillity in the border areas and strengthening bilateral relations through engagement in political, economic and multilateral forums. The meeting also came against the backdrop of efforts by both countries to address the boundary issue through dialogue.

The cultural interaction highlighted the importance of people-to-people contacts and institutional exchanges in supporting broader India-China relations.### Language and name corrections:
