New Delhi : In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sahkar se Samriddhi” and under the leadership of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah, the Ministry of Cooperation is continuing efforts to strengthen the country’s cooperative ecosystem through modern infrastructure, technology-driven systems and farmer-focused initiatives.
As part of this initiative, Amit Shah will inaugurate the Madhur Dairy Unit-2 Automatic Milk Processing and Packaging Plant at Dashela in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on May 17, 2026. Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Harsh Sanghavi and other dignitaries are expected to attend the programme.
The newly developed dairy unit is expected to significantly increase milk processing and packaging capacity in the region while strengthening the cooperative dairy network and improving returns for milk producers associated with dairy cooperatives.
Officials said the project reflects the government’s commitment to modernising the dairy cooperative sector through advanced technology, improved quality assurance systems and efficient processing infrastructure.
During the programme, Amit Shah will unveil the plaque of Madhur Dairy Unit-2 and visit the processing facility and viewing gallery. He will also formally inaugurate the plant by launching its operational systems from the control room.
Women milk producers associated with dairy cooperatives will honour the Union Minister with a Madhur Dairy product kit during the event, highlighting the growing contribution of women in India’s cooperative dairy movement.
The programme will also include distribution of certificates to representatives of milk producer societies by the Minister, reaffirming the government’s focus on strengthening grassroots dairy cooperatives and empowering milk producers through institutional support and modern infrastructure.
The inauguration of Madhur Dairy Unit-2 is expected to boost cooperative-led rural development, create enhanced livelihood opportunities for dairy farmers and strengthen India’s dairy value chain through modern and sustainable cooperative models.
