New Delhi : Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu will participate in the foundation stone laying and grounding ceremonies for several major aerospace and defence projects in Andhra Pradesh on May 15, 2026. The events will be held at Puttaparthi in Sri Satya Sai district.
Among the key projects, the foundation stone will be laid for an Aircraft Integration and Flight Testing Centre of the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA). The facility is expected to support aircraft integration, testing, validation and certification activities, and accelerate the development of India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme.
The Raksha Mantri will also lay the foundation stone for Bharat Dynamics Limited’s new Naval Systems Manufacturing Facility at T. Sirasapalli village in Anakapalli district. The advanced manufacturing complex will cater to the growing requirements of underwater weapon systems and naval combat technologies.
Grounding ceremonies will also be conducted for multiple defence manufacturing projects, including a Defence Energetics Facility by Agneyastra Energetics Limited, a subsidiary of Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited, and an Ammunition and Electric Fuzes Plant by HFCL Limited at Madakasira in Sri Satya Sai district.
In addition, a series of projects related to the proposed Drone City at Kurnool will also be launched during the event.
Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the Government of Andhra Pradesh and participating organisations are also expected to be signed on the occasion.
