Islamabad Talks: Shehbaz Sharif Engages with Iranian Leadership

New Delhi : Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with a high-level Iranian delegation during the ongoing Islamabad Talks, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to promoting dialogue and regional stability.

The Iranian delegation was led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Consultative Assembly, and included Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The meeting underscored the importance of continued diplomatic engagement amid evolving regional dynamics.

Appreciating Iran’s constructive participation in the talks, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s sincere resolve to play a facilitative role in advancing dialogue among stakeholders. He expressed hope that such engagements would help build momentum toward meaningful outcomes in the interest of regional and global peace and stability.

The Pakistani side was represented by senior leadership, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi.

The meeting highlighted the shared commitment of both sides to strengthening diplomatic coordination and supporting peaceful resolution of regional challenges through sustained dialogue.
