New Delhi : Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, C. P. Radhakrishnan, today administered the oath to newly elected member Nitish Kumar at the Parliament House. Representing the state of Bihar, Nitish Kumar took the oath in Hindi.
The ceremony was attended by several senior leaders and dignitaries, including Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman; Union Minister for Panchayati Raj and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh; Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal; Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha and Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Chemicals and Fertilizers Jagat Prakash Nadda; and Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Samrat Choudhary.
Also present on the occasion were Members of Parliament Jairam Ramesh, Rajeev Shukla and Sanjay Kumar Jha from the Rajya Sabha, along with Rajiv Pratap Rudy from the Lok Sabha. Secretary-General of the Rajya Sabha P. C. Mody and other senior officials of the Secretariat were also in attendance.
