New Delhi : Donald Trump announced that the United States is prepared to suspend military strikes on Iran for two weeks, following discussions with Shehbaz Sharif PM and Gen Asim Munir of Pakistan .
According to the tweet of President Trump, the decision is contingent on Iran fully, immediately, and safely reopening the Strait of Hormuz. If these conditions are met, the pause in attacks would form the basis of a bilateral ceasefire.
In his Tweet he stated that the United States has already achieved its military objectives and is now close to securing a long-term peace agreement with Iran and broader stability in the Middle East. Trump also noted that Washington has received a 10-point proposal from Tehran, which it considers a viable foundation for future negotiations.
He described the development as a significant step toward resolving a long-standing conflict and advancing peace efforts in the region. His statement is retweeted by Secretary Marco Dubki too.
