– DC directed the joint team of NHAI, Police Department and Rahgiri Foundation to do a case study for necessary rescue measures at the accident prone area at Panchgaon Chowk
Gurugram : DC Ajay Kumar presided over the meeting organized regarding District Road Safety Committee and Safe School Vehicle Policy in the auditorium of the Mini Secretariat today. In the meeting, the work done on various issues related to road safety and traffic management was discussed in detail.
The DC said in the meeting that there are clear instructions from the government that the renovation work of all the roads should be completed before June 15. So that smooth traffic system can be ensured during the rainy season. The DC instructed the NHAI officials to ensure that the lights installed from Kherki Toll to Panchgaon Chowk are made functional. Along with this, a three-member team from NHAI, Police Department and Rahgiri Foundation should prepare a report after doing a detailed study for the necessary safety measures at the accident prone area at Panchgaon Chowk.
In the meeting, the officials informed that various schools in the district have been instructed to follow the rules in school buses but the school management is continuously ignoring it. The DC said that strict action should be taken against such schools and the concerned school buses should be impounded so that it can be set as an example for other schools.
In the meeting, GMDA officials informed that the work of FOB in Narsinghpur will be completed in the next 15 days. Along with this, the work of installing traffic lights at the places identified by the traffic police has been completed. NHAI officials informed that the tender for the construction of flyover at Bilaspur Chowk has been opened. The bids are under technical assessment. Similarly, the work of pedestrian footpath and U-turn for small vehicles at Mahavir Chowk is still in process.
In the meeting, detailed discussions were held on issues like installation of rumble strips in accident prone areas near La Lagoon, diverting heavy traffic to bypass to preserve the historical gate in Farrukhnagar, ongoing road development work at Jail Chowk, construction of shed and installation of necessary signage boards at Atul Kataria Chowk underpass, availability of necessary lighting at Sidhrawali cut, repairing blackspots on major routes of the district etc.
ADC Hitesh Kumar Meena, Badshahpur SDM Ankit Choksey, DCP Traffic Rajesh Mohan, Sohna SDM Sanjeev Singla, Gurugram SDM Paramjeet Chahal, Manesar SDM Darshan Yadav, Motor Vehicle Officer Harendra Veer from RTA department along with officials of NHAI, Police, PWD, Municipal Corporation, GMDA and Rahgiri Foundation were present in the meeting.
