Sharadiya Navratri Fair to Begin at Sheetla Mata Temple in Gurugram on October 11

Special religious programmes to continue till October 20; Shrine Board reviews security, sanitation, healthcare, traffic and devotees’ facilities

Gurugram : The annual Sharadiya Navratri fair at the ancient and renowned Shri Sheetla Mata Temple in Gurugram will be held from October 11 to October 20, with a large number of devotees expected to visit the temple during the festival.

In view of the anticipated rush, the Shri Sheetla Mata Temple Shrine Board and various concerned departments are finalising arrangements for the fair. A review meeting with officials of the departments concerned was held under the chairmanship of Shrine Board Chief Executive Officer Sumit Kumar to assess preparations and ensure smooth management of the event.

Focus on Devotee Convenience and Inter-Departmental Coordination

Sumit Kumar said a large number of devotees visit the temple to seek the blessings of Mata during Sharadiya Navratri. He directed all departments to complete the necessary arrangements well in advance, keeping the convenience and safety of devotees in mind.

He also stressed the need for close coordination among all concerned departments and directed officials to continuously monitor arrangements throughout the fair.

Security, Crowd Management and Traffic Arrangements

The police department has been directed to ensure comprehensive security arrangements inside and around the temple premises, along with effective crowd management and smooth traffic movement.

Officials were asked to ensure seamless movement of vehicles at designated parking areas and facilitate convenient movement of devotees. Considering the expected increase in footfall, arrangements for additional vehicles are also being made, with instructions to deploy them as required during the fair.

The Health Department has been directed to keep adequate medical teams, ambulances and first-aid facilities available throughout the event.

Regular Drinking Water Quality Checks

Special emphasis has been placed on maintaining the quality of drinking water during the fair. Officials have been instructed to regularly collect water samples from drinking water sources in the fair area and get them tested.

The cleanliness of water tanks and other drinking water sources must also be ensured. In case any deficiency is detected during sample testing, immediate corrective action is to be taken in coordination with the concerned department.

Sanitation, Fire Safety and Power Supply

The Municipal Corporation has been directed to ensure regular cleanliness throughout the fair area, adequate drinking water facilities, proper maintenance of public toilets and efficient waste management.

The Fire Department has been instructed to put in place all necessary fire-safety arrangements, while the Power Department has been asked to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and keep an alternative power arrangement ready to deal with any eventuality.

Special Religious Programmes During Navratri

The temple will host special religious programmes during Sharadiya Navratri. The Shrine Board is giving final shape to all arrangements so that devotees can have a smooth and convenient darshan and participate in the Navratri celebrations without difficulty.

Officials Attend Review Meeting

Those present at the meeting included ACP Praveen, ACP Sanjay, Deputy CMO Dr Vikas, Temple Officer Yug Dutt Sharma, Pankaj, besides officials from the Police, Health, Municipal Corporation, Fire, Transport and Power Departments and other concerned agencies.
