Six-Member Russian Navy Delegation Visits Southern Naval Command and Indian Naval Academy
India: India and Russia further reinforced their longstanding naval partnership with a six-member Russian Navy delegation, led by Captain 1st Rank Sergei V. Saitov, visiting Indian Navy Headquarters, Southern Naval Command (IN_HQSNC) and the Indian Naval Academy (IN_NavalAcademy) from 27 September to 1 October 2026.
During the visit, the Russian delegation familiarised itself with the Indian Navy’s overall training architecture, including its training infrastructure, facilities and institutional arrangements.
The two sides also held discussions on ways to further strengthen maritime cooperation, with a particular focus on enhancing interoperability between the two navies and deepening institutional and professional linkages.
The engagement provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange perspectives on naval training and professional development while exploring avenues for closer cooperation in the maritime domain.
The visit reflects the enduring and time-tested naval partnership between India and Russia, marked by continued interaction, professional exchanges and efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two maritime forces.
