New Delhi : Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu inaugurated a modern DDA Sports Complex in Sector 33, Rohini, in the presence of GNCTD Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh and MP Yogender Chandolia.
During the inauguration, Sandhu interacted with budding sportspersons and encouraged young athletes to pursue their ambitions with dedication, discipline and determination. He urged them to train consistently, dream big and strive for excellence.
The Lieutenant Governor said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, efforts are being made to channel the energy and potential of the country’s youth through sports while developing world-class sporting infrastructure in Delhi.
The new sports complex is aimed at providing young athletes and residents with improved facilities for sports training, physical fitness and recreational activities. Such infrastructure can also help create a stronger grassroots sporting ecosystem by providing aspiring players with better access to training facilities closer to their communities.
The initiative is part of the broader focus on expanding sports infrastructure in Delhi and encouraging greater participation among young people.
Addressing the budding players, Sandhu emphasised the importance of discipline and sustained effort in achieving sporting goals.
“Train hard. Dream big. Strive for excellence,” he said.
