Gurugram : Deputy Commissioner and District Census Officer Uttam Kumar has issued necessary directions under Section 7 of the Census Act, 1948, to ensure the smooth, timely, and effective conduct of the India Census 2027 operations in Gurugram district.
As per the orders, elected representatives of all Urban Local Bodies, including Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils, Municipal Committees, and Cantonment Boards, have been directed to extend full cooperation to enumerators, supervisors, and other officials engaged in census duties.
The directions also call upon Sarpanches, Panches, Gram Panchayat members, Lambardars, and village heads to provide all necessary assistance to census personnel within their respective areas to facilitate the seamless execution of census operations.
The orders clearly state that no obstruction, delay, or interference of any kind will be tolerated during the census process. All concerned departments and local bodies have been instructed to provide required support whenever sought by census officials.
Emphasizing the significance of the exercise, DC Uttam Kumar stated that the Census is an important national responsibility and requires active cooperation from public representatives as well as citizens for its successful completion. He directed officials to ensure that the census work is carried out with complete seriousness, transparency, and efficiency.
The DC further warned that any hindrance or delay in the census operations would invite action under the provisions of the Census Act, 1948.
The orders have come into immediate effect.
