New Delhi: The Indian Army hosted the Annual Foreign Service Attachés Briefing 2026 at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, bringing together 65 Defence Attachés from 50 countries for discussions on contemporary challenges affecting global peace and security.
The briefing provided a platform for participating Defence Attachés to deliberate on the evolving global and regional security environment and gain insights into India’s perspective on emerging security challenges.
The event also highlighted India’s growing indigenous defence capabilities and the country’s continued thrust towards Atmanirbharta in defence, showcasing the increasing focus on self-reliance and indigenous capacity building in the defence sector.
General Dhiraj Seth, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), interacted with the Foreign Service Attachés and exchanged views on emerging regional and global security challenges, India’s security perspective and the strategic priorities of the Indian Army.
The engagement further strengthened defence diplomacy and mutual understanding between India and participating countries. It also underscored the shared commitment of the participating nations towards promoting peace, stability and security at the global level.
