Four-day Inter-University Media Conclave and Creator Challenge concludes with students showcasing their skills in filmmaking, reel making and podcasting
Gurugram, September 26, 2026: The School of Emerging Media and Creator Economy (SEMCE), K.R. Mangalam University, successfully concluded Create-A-Thon 2026, an Inter-University Media Conclave and Creator Challenge organised as part of Kalakshetra 2026 from September 23 to 26.
The four-day event brought together students from various institutions to compete in creative challenges across Filmography, Reel Making and Podcasting. The conclave provided participants with a platform to transform their ideas into original media content while gaining hands-on experience in storytelling, filmmaking, digital content creation and podcast production.
The event was organised with the support of Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Shri Abhishek Gupta, Promoter and Director Shri Rohit Gupta, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Anil Kumar Saini and Registrar Dr. Rajeev Ratan, under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Amit Chawla, Dean, SEMCE.
Filmmaking Workshop Offers Practical Industry Insights
A key highlight of Create-A-Thon 2026 was a filmmaking workshop conducted by Saum Shipra Singh, Dadasaheb Phalke Award-winning filmmaker. He shared practical insights into storytelling, cinematography, camera techniques, short-film production and reel making.
Students also took part in a hands-on shooting exercise and received feedback on their creative work, providing them with an opportunity to understand various aspects of filmmaking through practical experience.
The concluding day of the event, September 26, featured Gurpreet Singh, Content Creator, as the Chief Guest. He interacted with students and shared insights into contemporary content creation, digital media and the evolving opportunities in the creator economy.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and provided them with opportunities to explore visual storytelling, short-form content, filmmaking and podcasting through practical and competitive challenges.
The successful execution of the event was supported by Dr. Aditi Aggarwal, Dr. Aditi Khare, Dr. Neha Arora, Dr. Manav Sharma, Ms. Navya Singh, Ms. Yashika Khandelwal, Ms. Deepika Kaur and Mr. Ujjawal, along with the SEMCE team.
Create-A-Thon 2026 concluded on a positive note, celebrating the creativity, talent and collaborative spirit of young media creators while highlighting SEMCE’s focus on experiential and industry-oriented learning.
