New Delhi/New York: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
Rubio said the meeting provided an opportunity to build further on the US-India strategic partnership and coordinate on key regional priorities as well as upcoming multilateral engagements.
Jaishankar said he reiterated India’s interests and concerns regarding the Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act (SRIA) during the meeting. The two ministers also discussed the situation in the Gulf and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. (Moneycontrol)
The meeting comes as India and the United States continue consultations on a range of bilateral, regional and global issues, including strategic cooperation and coordination at multilateral forums.
The two sides also discussed upcoming multilateral efforts, reflecting the broader scope of the India-US strategic partnership and their engagement on developments of shared interest. (DD India)
