New Delhi: Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra has highlighted the cutting-edge research being undertaken in high-speed flight and aerospace technology by professors Duvvuri Subrahmanyam and Pratikash Panda at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru.
In a post on social media platform X, Mahindra said the researchers are working on advanced technologies related to high-speed flight, describing their work as “exciting science” with a forward-looking vision for strengthening India’s aerospace capabilities. He, however, chose not to disclose further details of their research.
Mahindra particularly highlighted the researchers’ decision to return to India after working with leading international institutions, including Caltech, Princeton, Purdue University and Sandia National Laboratories.
He said their decision to come back and pursue advanced research in India reflects the growing calibre of researchers returning to the country and the emergence of a world-class deep-tech ecosystem.
According to Mahindra, one of the most encouraging developments for India’s future is that highly accomplished researchers are increasingly choosing to work in the country not out of obligation, but out of ambition.
He said the development of such indigenous research capabilities could play an important role in positioning India as a global centre for advanced science, engineering and aerospace innovation.
“The future isn’t on its way. It’s already being built — quietly, boldly, and right here at home,” Mahindra said, underscoring his optimism about India’s growing deep-tech and aerospace ecosystem.
