The advisory comes amid changes in Thailand’s entry and visa-related requirements for Indian travellers. Indian nationals are advised to carefully check the latest immigration rules, required travel documents and applicable financial requirements before travelling.
The Embassy has urged travellers to carry a valid passport with at least six months’ validity and ensure that all required documents are in order before departure. Travellers should also comply with Thailand’s immigration requirements and provide relevant information regarding their stay when required.
The advisory is particularly relevant for Indian tourists as Thailand remains a major overseas travel destination for Indian nationals. The Embassy has also provided its emergency contact number, +66-618819218, for Indian citizens requiring assistance in Thailand. (Embassy of India Bangkok)

Thailand has tightened and digitised several aspects of its immigration and entry procedures. All foreign nationals, including Indian travellers, are required to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) electronically within three days before arrival. The requirement applies to arrivals by air, land and sea, and the TDAC is an immigration requirement rather than a visa.
Indian ordinary passport holders travelling for tourism or short-term business should also carefully check the visa category and permitted duration of stay applicable on the date of travel. The Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi currently states that the 60-day visa exemption for Indian ordinary passport holders remains effective until further announcement.
Travellers should be prepared to provide valid travel documents, confirmed onward or return travel and details of accommodation, and may be asked by immigration authorities to demonstrate that they have sufficient means for their stay. The final decision on admission and permitted duration of stay rests with Thai immigration authorities.
The Embassy of India in Bangkok has advised Indian nationals to remain particularly attentive to changes in Thai immigration regulations and to verify requirements before travelling. The Embassy has also highlighted the TDAC requirement, which replaced the traditional paper arrival card from May 1, 2025.
