New Delhi: Officers participating in the Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC-22) at the College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad, undertook visits to forward locations of the Indian Army and Indian Air Force across the Northern and Western sectors from August 17 to 21 as part of their course curriculum.
The field visits provided the officers with an opportunity to observe operational preparedness and defence strategies at close quarters. The first-hand exposure offered a practical understanding of the challenges involved in operating in forward areas and the manner in which the armed forces maintain operational readiness.
The interaction and exposure also helped deepen the officers’ understanding of jointness and integration among the three Services, highlighting the importance of coordinated operations in strengthening India’s overall defence preparedness.
During the same period, officers from Friendly Foreign Countries participating in the programme visited several prominent Tri-Services institutions, including the National Defence Academy (NDA).
The combined field exposure and institutional visits added a practical dimension to HDMC-22, enabling participating officers to connect classroom learning with the operational realities of national security, military preparedness and jointness among the Services.
