New Delhi : NCT Delhi CM Rekha Gupta presented the budget for the year 2025-2026 in the Delhi Assembly. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta gave her first budget speech of 2 hours and 18 minutes. This year’s budget is Rs 1 lakh crore. In this budget speech, announcements were made from cleaning the Yamuna to running a verification campaign against Bangladeshi and Rohingya illegal citizens. She said that a campaign will be run to ensure that these illegal intruders do not get the benefits of Delhi’s schemes.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today took the blessings of Bajrangbali by offering prayers at Hanuman temple in Connaught Place before presenting the first budget of the government. CM held a meeting of her cabinet before the first budget of Delhi government.
In Delhi’s budget, the maximum amount of Rs 19291 crore i.e. 19 percent is being spent on education, 12 percent i.e. 12,893 crore on health, after this the maximum amount is being spent on Delhi’s infrastructure i.e. 12,952 crore on transport and roads. After this, Rs 10.694 crore will be spent on the housing sector and Rs 9,000 crore on cleaning the Yamuna.
In the budget of 1 lakh crore, 71000 crore will come from Delhi’s tax. 4000 crore will be received from the central government.

Strong infrastructure, fast pace of development. With a capital expenditure of ₹28,000 crore, there will be extensive improvement in roads, bridges, drainage, transport and other public services in Delhi. This budget is a strong step towards transforming Delhi into a smart and modern city.
With a budget of 100 crore, Atal canteens will be established in 100 slum colonies and cheap and nutritious food will be provided to the needy. On the occasion of 100th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna late Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji, 100 Atal canteens will be opened, where nutritious food will be available at low price.
In the last 10 years, Delhi has slipped on every scale of development. The people of Delhi were troubled by dilapidated roads, polluted Yamuna, sewer overflow and poor health services.
Clean water will reach every house, sewer system will be upgraded. ₹9,000 crore has been allocated to further improve the water supply and sanitation system. This will lay new water pipelines, expand sewer lines and provide pure drinking water to every citizen.
To achieve the development goals of Delhi in 2025-2026, 1 thousand crores is being proposed under the Planning Department for projects funded by the Central Government for infrastructure projects.
More than 50,000 cameras will be installed for the safety of women. Rs 3843 crore has been allocated for road and bridge infrastructure. Rs 696 crore has been allocated to provide basic amenities in slums and slum colonies – Chief Minister.
Delhi was handed over to us in a way in which there was no infrastructure. Our goal is to establish infrastructure in Delhi. Now, Delhi will be discussed, but not just for traffic jams. This megacity became a chaotic capital with bad roads, traffic jams and unfinished projects.
More money was spent on national advertisements than on government projects.
Today, Yamuna ji is struggling with drains and polluted water. We are committed to clean the Yamuna river. It is not just a river for us, it is our cultural heritage. Rs 500 crore has been allocated to develop 40 decentralised sewage plants to ensure that no drain water is released directly into the Yamuna river.
There is a lot of difference between us and AAP. AAP made promises, we will fulfil them. AAP abused other state governments and the central government, we will work together. AAP built ‘Sheesh Mahal’, we will build houses for the poor. AAP installed pot toilets worth lakhs of rupees, we will build toilets for slum dwellers
A new project, ‘NEEV – New Era of Entrepreneur Ecosystem and Vision’, will be launched. Under this initiative, children will be trained with the necessary skills. Keeping in mind the need to prepare them for modern economies, a budget of ₹20 crore has been allocated for the NEEV project.
The implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojana was announced in the first cabinet meeting itself. Delhi government decided to provide a top up of health insurance of Rs 10 lakh by adding another Rs 5 lakh to the existing Rs 5 lakh given by the Government of India.
